Subject: | Designating January 2022 as "School Directors Recognition Month" |
In the near future, we plan to introduce a resolution designating January 2022 as "School Directors Recognition Month" in Pennsylvania. Local school districts and their governing boards were established by the General Assembly more than 150 years ago and are still as relevant and important as they were when they were created. Pennsylvania has approximately 4,500 school directors throughout the state and we should commend their hard work and dedication that they put forward every day. A school director's position is no easy task, particularly in the current climate of school change. This resolution honors school directors for the many hours spent helping our students and schools. Each school board director plays a vital role in ensuring that their school district is successful and each has the common goal of providing an outstanding education to prepare all students for their futures, whether that be college or the workplace. I hope you will join us in co-sponsoring this resolution. |
