Subject: National Women's Small Business Month - October 2019
 
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution designating the month of October as
"National Women's Small Business Month" in our Commonwealth.

The month celebrates the growth and accomplishments of women entrepreneurs and
small business owners, and to support efforts to increase awareness of the value of
women-owned small businesses.

Women's entrepreneurship has steadily risen in the United States for the last three
decades, and women-owned businesses are one of the economic engines of the United
States.

Today there are nearly 10,000,000 women-owned small businesses in the United States
which employ more than 8.4 million people and generate $1,500,000,000,000 in sales
annually.

Please join me in recognizing the achievements and efforts of business women in
Pennsylvania.
