Subject: | Resolution - Great Hunger Remembrance Month (October 2014) |
In the near future, we will introduce a resolution recognizing October 2014 as “Great Hunger Remembrance Month.” The Great Hunger that plagued Ireland from 1845 to 1850 caused Ireland to lose 2 million people due to starvation, disease and forced emigration. It led to the single greatest loss of life in Europe between the Napoleonic Wars and World War I. Please join us in sponsoring this resolution. |
