Subject: Resolution - Great Hunger Remembrance Month (October 2014)
 
In the near future, we will introduce a resolution recognizing October 2014 as “Great Hunger Remembrance Month.” The Great Hunger that plagued Ireland from 1845 to 1850 caused Ireland to lose 2 million people due to starvation, disease and forced emigration. It led to the single greatest loss of life in Europe between the Napoleonic Wars and World War I.
