MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 1, 2013 12:14 PM
From: Representative Keith Gillespie
To: All House members
Subject: Interference with Police Officers

In the near future, I am planning to reintroduce former HB582. This piece of legislation will amend Chapter to Title 18 (crimes and offenses) adding a new section Interference with Police Officers.

This legislation provides that a person who intentionally or knowingly interferes with a police officer, with the knowledge that the individual is a police officer, in the performance of his duties commits a summary offense.

This legislation defines "police officer" as a member of the State Police or as defined in Title 53 2162.

Introduced as HB720
