House Committee Roll Call Votes

Committee STATE GOVERNMENT Date May 9, 2011
Bill/Resolution HB934 PN1003 A01157 Type of Motion Adopt Amendment
Maker of Motion Rep. Josephs Seconded by Rep. Vitali
Brief Description
establishing that proof of ID must be issued by an agency, department or instrumentality of the state or federal government, or a political subdivision or an agency, department or instrumentality of a political subdivision. Establishes specifics regarding posting of voter ID requirements on the Internet and newspapers of general circulation. Eliminates the requirement that voters without ID, who cast provisional ballots, must appear before the county board of elections 6 days after the election. Rather, these voters must sign and affidavit at the polling place. Allows an authorized representative of each candidate and of each party to remain in the room during deliberations to determine which provisional ballots are counted and which are not.
