Subject: | Recognizing National Library Week in Pennsylvania |
In the near future, we will be introducing a resolution designating April 7 through April 13, 2024, as National Library Week in Pennsylvania. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April. The theme for National Library Week 2024, “Ready, Set, Library!,” promotes the idea that in our always-online world, libraries give us a place to connect with others, learn new skills, and focus on what matters most. Whether preparing for a new career, launching a business, or raising a family - libraries provide an inclusive and supportive community where everyone belongs. Libraries are an integral part of our communities across the Commonwealth – offering resources and services that create opportunities for learning, support literacy and enhance education. Please join us in recognizing and celebrating the libraries across our Commonwealth by cosponsoring this resolution. |
