Subject: Honoring June 2023 as Homeownership Month
 
I intend to introduce a resolution honoring June 2023 as Home Ownership Month.

Homeownership has long been a bedrock of the American dream. Among the many milestones of life, purchasing a home stands out as a time of establishing community. Purchasing a home is one of the many ways individuals and families cement their presence in an area and form lasting relationships. Furthermore, purchasing one’s first home is a significant milestone on the path of life.

Homeownership also comes with the added benefits of debt reduction and financial growth over the long-term. By owning a home, individuals and families are investing in something that gains value while also serving as a place of comfort and stability.

My resolution will recognize June 2023 as Homeownership Month in Pennsylvania. I ask that you join me in cosponsoring this piece of legislation.
