Subject: | Recognizing Turkic Cultural Day |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution designating June 26, 2018 as, “Turkic Cultural Day” in Pennsylvania. The purpose of this resolution is to recognize the valuable work and contributions of the Council of Turkic American Alliance and the Turkish Cultural Center of Pennsylvania. Since their establishment, the Council of Turkic American Alliance and the Turkish Cultural Center of Pennsylvania have been committed to education citizens about Turkey’s rich history and heritage, as well as fostering the principles of mutual respect, understanding, tolerance and comradery among citizens. The Turkic-American community here in Pennsylvania and throughout the United States, plays an instrumental role in sharing with us their unique traditions and values, promoting ethnic diversity and contributing to the vitality and growth of our economy. Turkic Cultural Day provides us with a good opportunity to recognize Turkish heritage and the many contributions the Turkish-American community has provided to Pennsylvania and our nation. |
