Subject: | Transportation Law and Regulation Review |
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution that directs the Joint State Government Commission to conduct a study to analyze and identify which transportation laws and regulations in this Commonwealth have more stringent standards than what is required by Federal law. The findings will be presented to the General Assembly within one year of the adoption of this resolution. I also circulated a similar cosponsor memo -- that will soon be introduced -- calling for a study on education laws and regulations that go beyond Federal law. Transportation encompasses a wide range of issues, including our roads and bridges, construction projects, tolls, rail freight, aviation, and many other important entities. All of these are vitally important and this resolution is intended to find balance through practical application of the laws and regulations and at the same time permit economic growth and job creation. Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution |
