Subject: State Agency Managers Pay Disparity
 
In the near future, I will be introducing legislation that would amend the Public Employee Relations Act to ensure that all managers working for any state agency receive not less than the same dollar increase that employees belonging to a collective bargaining unit receive.

This legislation addresses concerns that have been brought to my attention by several managers within our state agencies who went through a period without any raise while non-management/union employees received a 13.75 percent increase between 2009 and 2012.

It is my goal to correct the pay disparity that exists in state government to more accurately reflect how the private sector operates.
