In the very near future I will be introducing a bill to modify the State Lottery Law. These modifications will have the effect of: - Prohibiting a private management company, management level employees, or any of its subsidiaries from making political contributions, gifts, etc… to any candidate, state party, or group/association that makes donations to candidates
- Providing for an annual certification by the Chief Executive of the management company that proper safeguards have been put in place to ensure that these prohibitions have been met
- Prohibiting any executive level public employee, public official, party officer, or any of their immediate family members from holding a financial interest in the private manager of the Pennsylvania lottery, or any of their subsidiaries during their time of employment, and for one year beyond the termination of their employment.
- Prohibiting any executive level public employee, public official, party officer, or any of their immediate family members from being employed by the private manager of the Pennsylvania lottery, or any of their subsidiaries during their time of employment, and for one year beyond the termination of their employment.
- Providing penalties for the violation of these prohibitions
This bill would also cross-reference the ethics act to exempt current lottery employees who would otherwise be barred from working for the private manager for one year. |
