Subject: National Public Safety Telecommunications Week -- April 14th - 20th, 2024

In the near future, we will be introducing a resolution to recognize the week of April 14th -20th, 2024 as “National Public Safety Telecommunications Week” in Pennsylvania.

This week recognizes the critical services of 911 operators and dispatchers throughout our Commonwealth and the impact of their work on our communities. Whether it is responding to emergencies, assisting first responders during accidents, providing first aid guidance over the phone, or comforting a person in their time of need, these individuals dedicate their lives to helping the people and our communities with constant year-round work which can prove stressful for those workers who deal with some of the worst moments in people’s lives.

It is our hope that this week will show how the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania truly supports our 911 operators and dispatchers while spreading public awareness of the critical work these individuals do for our communities.

Please join us in co-sponsoring this resolution to help recognize the lifesaving work of our public safety telecommunicators.
