Subject: Recognizing August 5th-9th 2024 as NCSL 50th Anniversary Week
 
For the last 50 years, the National Conference of State Legislatures – NCSL – has brought together Members and legislative staff from State Legislatures across the country. NCSL, a bi-partisan organization, aims to advance the effectiveness of state legislatures across the country as well as to foster interstate communication, and ensure states have a strong, cohesive voice in the federal system. Many State Legislators, their offices, and staff lean on NCSL as the premier resource for research and statistics.
 
Justice Brandeis famously called states the laboratories of democracy. NCSL brings Legislators together to see what has succeeded in one state and how best practice discovered in one state can be applied to other states. This improves the effectiveness of laws and policies that influence the lives of millions of Americans each and every year.
 
Please join me in recognizing the week of August 5th -9th as NCSL’s 50th anniversary.
