MEMORANDUM

To: All House members
Subject: Study: Workforce Training Needs of PA's Healthcare Sector

In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution directing the Joint State Government Commission to study the long-term workforce and workforce training needs of our commonwealth’s healthcare sector.

As the largest employment sector in Pennsylvania, our healthcare system significantly impacts, not only the health and well-being of patients, but also the economic prosperity and stability of local communities.

Pennsylvania’s ability to maintain an accessible, world-class healthcare system is dependent on the availability of a well-skilled, well-trained workforce and the ability of providers to attract and retain that workforce.

We need to ensure that Pennsylvania workers and providers are prepared to meet the growing, aging and ever-changing healthcare needs of the future.

Please join me in supporting this resolution.
