Subject: | Resolution Celebrating the Bicentennial of the US District Court for the Western District of PA |
In the near future I plan to introduce a Resolution celebrating the bicentennial of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. After Congress established the two-tiered court system below the Supreme Court in 1789, the Western District was established by the act of April 20, 1818. The Commonwealth was divided into two judicial districts, with the Western District headquartered in Pittsburgh. The Western District consists of over 20 counties including Allegheny, Somerset, Greene, and Bedford. We recognize the thousands who have served and currently serve as public officials that strive to uphold the Constitution of the United States and balance the scales of justice. We honor the District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania throughout the nation for its standards of excellence, fairness and professionalism. Please join me in co-sponsoring. |
