Subject: | Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia Awareness Day Resolution |
In the near future I plan to introduce a resolution designating May 2, 2017 as “Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia Awareness Day” in Pennsylvania. Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH), also known as glycine encephalopathy, is a severe and rare disorder which leads to seizures, breathing and feeding difficulties, muscle limpness and lethargy. NKH affects 1 of every 60,000 births, and there are fewer than 500 children worldwide living with NKH. There is currently no cure and very few available treatment options. Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution to raise awareness of NKH in order to improve the lives of those affected by it. |
