Subject: | Dental Education Courses in Pennsylvania |
In the near future I plan on introducing legislation to amend The Dental Law (Act 76 of 1933) to allow licensed dentists from other states and countries to attend clinical continuing education courses offered in Pennsylvania. The Dental Law already allows dentists from other states and countries to attend clinical continuing education courses offered by a dental school in Pennsylvania without obtaining a PA dentist license. However there are many approved providers of clinical dental continuing education courses in PA that are not affiliated with one of the three dental schools located in the Commonwealth. The American Dental Association runs a certification program for providers of dental continuing education, the ADA Continuing Education Recognition Program (ADA CERP). My legislation would allow licensed dentists from other states and countries to attend clinical continuing education courses in PA without obtaining a PA dentist license if the provider is ADA CERP approved and the dentist is covered by medical professional liability insurance. |
