Subject: Observation of April 22, 2016 as Earth Day
 
I plan to introduce a resolution encouraging residents of Pennsylvania to observe “Earth Day” on April 22, 2016. This year’s theme is “Trees for the Earth,” highlighting the beneficial impact of trees on our environment.

This year marks the 46th celebration of Earth Day, encouraging awareness for environmental concerns. Earth Day events and activities are designed to promote environmentally friendly concepts, such as recycling energy efficiency, utilizing environmentally friendly products and reducing pollution.
