MEMORANDUM

Posted: September 25, 2015 03:35 PM
From: Representative Donna Bullock
To: All House members
Subject: Resolution recognizing the week of November 22 through November 28, 2015 as “National Family Week” in Pennsylvania.

In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution that recognizes the week of November 22 through November 28, 2015 as “National Family Week” in Pennsylvania.

As you may know, National Family Week has a rich history in our great nation. The week was initially conceived by educator and Coach Sam Wiley and was first observed in 1968. In addition, the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities has led an annual observance of the week since 1970. Finally, National Family Week has been recognized annually by presidential proclamation since 1972.

This resolution recognizes the importance of those family members that care for loved ones and how these families, acting in concert, help each other in difficult times. This resolution also underscores the importance and emphasizes that, by working together -- families and communities thrive when responsibilities and resources are shared and connections are fostered.

With that said, I am proud to offer this resolution and invite I you to join me by co-sponsoring this measure. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact my office at (717) 787-3480.
