Subject: | Ataxia Awareness Day in Pennsylvania |
In the near future, we will introduce a House Resolution recognizing Friday, September 25, 2015, as “Ataxia Awareness Day” in Pennsylvania. Ataxia is an often fatal degenerative neurological disorder that causes slow, progressive deterioration of nerve cells in the spinal cord and cerebellum. This affects balance, coordination and speech. There are an estimated 150,000 individuals affected by this disorder. Ataxia can strike anyone at any time, without regard to age, gender, race or creed. There is no known cure. We rely on research and prevention through education, hoping that a cure will be found. Please join us in sponsoring this important resolution to raise greater awareness of Ataxia. Thank you. |
