Subject: | Casino Entrance Fee to Help Fund State Pension Funds (Prior HB 527) |
Pennsylvania’s pension crisis has been in the news for the past several years, and finding solutions has been difficult. I plan to reintroduce former Rep. Paul Clymer's legislation to provide additional funding to the Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS) and the State Employees’ Retirement System (SERS). I am proposing that each casino patron pay a $2 entrance fee. To accomplish this mission, the casinos could put in place turn stalls with meters. The money collected would be divided evenly between the two State pension funds. I hope you will consider this common sense approach as we deal with the pension crisis.
