Subject: School Reform Commission Legislation
 
Please join me in cosponsoring legislation that will suspend the School Reform Commission’s authority as it relates to their ability to close or reconstitute a school, including the reassignment, suspension or dismissal of professional employees. Under this legislation the suspension will last until June 30, 2014 to allow the following:
  • Permit the school district to investigate changes in various areas
  • Permit the school district and the General Assembly to consider financial reform
  • Enable residents of the school district to plan for appropriate and effective transition
