Subject: | Government Reform - Health Care Co-Pay |
I will soon be introducing legislation requiring the legislative and judicial branches to mirror the executive branch’s health care co-pay policy. We have made progress reforming government and improving accountability during my six years in the General Assembly, but we can go further. There is no reason why employees in one branch of state government are paying higher health care co-pays than other branches. My legislation would place legislative and judicial branch employees at the same level as executive branch employees, which is currently 3 percent of salary, with a reduction of 1.5 percent if the employee participates in the “Get Healthy” initiative. In 2014, the policy would change to 5 percent of salary, with a reduction of 2 percent if the employee participates in the “Get Healthy” initiative. If you have any questions regarding this legislation, please contact Nate Silcox of my staff at 717-787-6538 or nsilcox@pasen.gov. |
