Subject: | Exempting Veterans Disability Benefits as Eligible Income under State Programs |
Please join me in sponsoring legislation introduced as Senate Bill 510 in the 2015-2016 legislative session. The bill was co-sponsored by Senators Brewster, Tartaglione, Kitchen, Teplitz, Fontana, Ward, Farnese, Vulakovich, Greenleaf, Schwank, Smith, Yudichak, Wiley, Blake, Williams, Boscola, Hutchinson, Vogel, Aument, Hughes, Mensch, Baker, Stefano, McGarrigle, Rafferty, Browne, and Haywood. The legislation will exempt veterans’ disability benefits as eligible income under certain programs. Under the bill, veterans’ disability benefits cannot be deemed income under the following acts: Senior Citizen Property Tax and Rent Rebate Assistance (Act 1), PACE/PACENET, and Section 1901 of the Vehicle Code (Exemption of persons, entities and vehicles from fees). I hope you will join me in sponsoring this legislation. |
