| Subject: | Senate Resolution: Designating "Industrial Resource Center Appreciation Day" in Pennsylvania (April 13, 2016) |
| In the near future, we plan on introducing a unanimous consent resolution designating April 13, 2016, as "Industrial Resource Center Appreciation Day" in Pennsylvania. Industrial Resource Centers (IRCs) were established by the General Assembly via the Industrial Resource Center Partnership Act (Act 31 of 2001) to serve the manufacturing industries in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. IRCs provide technical services and much-needed expertise to small and mid-sized manufacturers throughout Pennsylvania in the areas of innovation, process improvement, reshoring, and technology acceleration. IRCs have positively impacted PA manufacturing by creating or retaining jobs in more than 3,200 manufacturing businesses and facilitating more than $1.6 billion of manufacturer investment that have also positively impacted more than 57,000 created or retained manufacturing jobs.
