Subject: | C.A.S.U.A.L. (Colon Cancer Awareness Saves Unlimited Adult Lives) Day 2018 |
In the near future, I plan to re-introduce a resolution designating March 29, 2018 as “C.A.S.U.A.L. (Colon Cancer Awareness Saves Unlimited Adult Lives) Day 2018” in Pennsylvania. Colon and rectal cancers are two of the most frequently diagnosed cancers in northeastern Pennsylvania. Approximately 540 new cases are diagnosed and approximately 200 patients die from colon cancer each year in the counties of Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming combined. The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute has been helping to ease the burden of cancer in northeastern Pennsylvania for more than 25 years by providing community and patient services, hospital and practice support services and cancer surveillance programs specifically designed to meet the region’s unique needs. This will be the 15th annual C.A.S.U.A.L. Day held in order to increase colon cancer awareness throughout northeastern Pennsylvania. Therefore, I am re-introducing this resolution in a continued effort to increase public awareness of colon and rectal cancer throughout the state of Pennsylvania. I hope you will consider co-sponsoring this resolution |
