Subject: | United States and Pennsylvania Flags - Made in the USA (former HB 743) |
The elimination of import quotas on hundreds of textile products under a World Trade Agreement is a major concern to American textile manufacturers who are already suffering losses of licenses because of Chinese competition. Therefore, I will be re-introducing legislation that requires the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to procure only United States and Pennsylvania flags which are manufactured in the United States. We have precedents for this type of proposal: The U.S. Steel Procurement Act and the American Made Motor Vehicle Act. Right outside of my district is the Valley Forge Flag Company, Inc. This is a family-run business that was founded in 1882 and is the oldest flag company in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation. Previous co-sponsors include: JOZWIAK, GILLEN, READSHAW, KAUFFMAN, KILLION, MARSHALL, SACCONE, WARD, DIAMOND, CORBIN, CALTAGIRONE, BARRAR, DAVIS, MACKENZIE, HEFFLEY, McNEILL, CAUSER, ROZZI, ZIMMERMAN, WATSON, MILLARD, KNOWLES, MURT, HAHN, MOUL, TALLMAN, COHEN, DeLUCA, SAYLOR, D.
