HAGARTY, Lois Sherman, a Representative from Montgomery County; born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., September 28, 1948; graduated, Harriton High School, 1966; B.S., Temple University, 1970; M.Ed., Temple University, 1973; J.D., Temple University School of Law, 1976; elementary school teacher (1970-1973); attorney, Wilson, Drayer, Morrow & Furber (1973-1976); Assistant District Attorney (1976-1979) and first Assistant District Attorney (1979-1980), Montgomery County; chair, Lower Merion Republican Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives by Special Election, March 11, 1980; Sworn-In, April 8, 1980 to serve the remaining 1979 term; reelected to the House for 6 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (1989-1992); appointed, Select Committee on Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Services in Pennsylvania (1990); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1992); board member, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority; attorney, Pepper Hamilton LLP (1992-2002); associate vice president for government relations, Temple University; partner, Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr; principal, State Street Advisors, public policy constultants.
