MacKINNEY, Sarah Gertrude, a Representative from Butler County; born in Chicora, Butler County, Pa., March 29, 1874; graduated, Grove City High School; A.M., Grove City College, 1898; public school teacher; librarian, Grove City College (6 years); manufacturer; member, Butler Board of Trade; vice president, southwestern district, State Federation of Pennsylvania Women; treasurer, Carnegie Public Library of Butler; organizer, Butler County League of Women Voters (president, 2 years); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1923 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1925 term; appointed, State Librarian, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (1931-1935); died, May 1, 1966 in Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania; interred, North Side Cemetery, Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania.
