LOUGHLIN, John Kane, Sr., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, January 20, 1817 in Pennsylvania; carpenter; secretary, Moyamensing Hose Company (1839); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1846 and 1847; appointed, school director, Moyamensing (now Philadelphia) (1847); unsuccessful campaign, recorder of the deeds, Philadelphia County (1851); elected, commissioner, Moyamensing (1852-1854); appointed, building inspector, Philadelphia (1858-1861); died, November 25, 1864 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Old Cathedral Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
