FRANKEL, Daniel B., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., April 11, 1956; graduated, Pennington School, 1974; B.S., political science, Kenyon College, 1978; completed, Certification Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, 2000; insurance broker; vice-president, Hilb, Rogal, and Hamilton; vice-president, Frankel Co. (1980-1989); chair, Pennsylvania Jewish Coalition; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1998; is currently serving his 11th consecutive term; elected, delegate, Democrataic National Convention (2008); appointed, board, Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (2009-2010); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (2011-2018); elected, Minority Caucus Chair (2011-2018); appointed, board, State Employees Retirement System (2013-present); appointed, member, Pennsylvania Commission on LGBTQ Affairs (2018-present).
