RICHARDS, George Washington, a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Dravosburg, Allegheny County, Pa., August 20, 1868; graduated, Dravosburg Academy, 1883; graduated, Western University of Pennsylvania, College of Pharmacy (now University of Pittsburgh), 1892; clerk, general store; proprietor, McClain & Richards Pharmacy; proprietor, Eagle Drug Company; director, First National Bank; vice president, Duquesne Trust Company; elected, council, Duquesne; elected, burgess, Duquesne (1906-1908); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1909 term; reelected to serve 2 more consecutive terms; resigned from the House, December 23, 1913; elected, sheriff, Allegheny County (1914-1918); died, June 21, 1921 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Richland Cemetery, Dravosburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
