MULDOWNEY, Michael Joseph, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, August 10, 1889 in the city of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Duquesne University, 1908; deputy sheriff, Allegheny County; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1925 term; reelected to serve 2 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1930); elected, council, Pittsburgh (1930-1933); elected, United States Congress (1933-1935); unsuccessful campaign for reelection, Congress (1934); appointed, State Board of Mercantile Appraisers (1935-1937); appointed, referee, State Unemployment Compensation Board (1940-1947); died, March 30, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
