DOTY, Edmund Southard, a Representative from Bedford County; born, May 14, 1851 in Mifflintown, Juniata County, Pa.; attended, Airy View Academy; graduated, Lafayette College, 1872; lawyer; assistant district solicitor, Pennsylvania Railroad Company; cashier, First National Bank, Bedford; co-controller, Wilkinsburg Banking Company; principal, Bedford High School; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1898 and 1902; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1900, 1904, 1906); died, March 24, 1911 in the borough of Bedford, Bedford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Bedford Cemetery, Bedford, Bedford County, Pennsylvania.
