O’KEEFE, John J., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, November 11, 1902 in Pennsylvania; city assessor, Pittsburgh; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1932; reelected and served 3 more consecutive terms; appointed, Committee to Investigate the Construction of a Highway on the South Penn Railroad Route (1935-1936); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1937-1938); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee Re-Centralizing State Agencies in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh (1937-1938); appointed, Committee to Investigate the Manner of Conducting Civil Service Examinations (1939-1940); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1940); appointed, Committee to Investigate Unemployment Compensation Civil Service (1941-1942); police magistrate, Pittsburgh; personal secretary, Pittsburgh mayor David L. Lawrence; member, Board of Viewers, Allegheny County; investigator, State Auditor General’s Office; died, September 30, 1966 in Pennsylvania.
