BLOOM, Stephen L., a Representative from Cumberland County; born in Manhasset, Nassau County, NY, October 10, 1961; graduated, Penncrest High School, 1979; B.S., agricultural economics and rural sociology (resource economics option), The Pennsylvania State University, 1983; J.D., The Dickinson School of Law (now Penn State Dickinson Law), 1987; attorney; adjunct instructor, management and business, Messiah College; founder and first president, Estate Planning Council of Cumberland County; president, Downtown Carlisle Association; president, Carlisle Early Education Center; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017 terms; appointed, Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee (2013-2018); appointed, Deputy Whip (2016-2018); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (2018); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2018); vice president, Commonwealth Foundation (2019-present).
