PIPER, William G., a Representative from Berks County; born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., February 16, 1906; officer, Pennsylvania State Highway Patrol, State Police (1925-1931); investigator, Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (1934-1943); insurance adjustor (1943-1962); elected, Spring Township School Board (1947); elected, justice of the peace (1953-1974); member, Berks County Republican Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1957 term; unsuccessful campaign for relection to the House (1958); reelected to the House for the 1961 term and served 6 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Pennsylvania Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1973-1974); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1974); died, November 30, 1976 in Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
