GOODMAN, James A., a Representative from Schuylkill County; born in New Boston, Schuylkill County, Pa., June 12, 1936; B.S., The Pennsylvania State University, 1961; served, United States Air Force (1954-1957); insurance agent; chairman, Mahanoy City Democratic Committee; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1965 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1966); reelected to the House for the 1969 term and served 5 consecutive terms thereafter; elected, Majority Policy Committee Chairman (1977-1978); elected, Minority Policy Committee Chairman (1979-1980);  not a candidate for reelection to the House (1980); appointed, vice-chair, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (1985-1989); appointed, chair, Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (1987-1995).
