MANMILLER, Joseph Chester, a Representative from Dauphin and Lebanon Counties; born in Steelton, Dauphin County, Pa., November 28, 1925; graduated, Steelton High School, 1943; B.S., State Teachers College in Lock Haven (now Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania), 1949; M.Ed., The Pennsylvania State University, 1953; radioman, third class, United States Navy (1943-1945, World War II; two Bonze Battle Stars recipient); teacher; school principal; school administrator; coach; member, Derry Township Republican Club; member, Steelton 5th Ward Republican Club; member, Dauphin County Negro Republican Club Council; member, Dauphin County Young Republicans; member, West Hanover Republican Club; member, Dauphin County Republican Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1975 term and served 6 more consecutive terms; appointed, Select Committee on Three Mile Island (1979); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1988); died, October 13, 2008 in West Hanover Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Shells Cemetery, Shellsville, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
