DISTLER, James T., a Representative from Clearfield and Elk Counties; born in St. Marys, Elk County, Pa., May 22, 1934; graduated, St. Marys High School, 1953; attended, University of Buffalo; graduated, accounting and business administration, DuBois Business College, 1958; served, classifications specialist, 6486 Air Based Group, United States Air Force (1953-1957); manager, Manufacturing Control Systems; elected, township supervisor, St. Mary’s (1977-1984); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1985, 1987 and 1989 terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1991 term; legislative assistant, Republican Caucus, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1991); died, March 31, 2015 in St. Mary's, Elk County, Pennsylvania; interred, St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Mary's, Elk County, Pennsylvania.
