TELEK, William, a Representative from Cambria and Somerset Counties; born on January 6, 1924 in Slickville, Westmoreland County, Pa.; A.A., Potomac State College, 1949; B.Ed., University of Miami, 1951; M.Ed., The Pennsylvania State University, 1952; served, United States Army (1943-1946, World War II); educator; high school guidance counselor; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1979 term and served 4 more consecutive terms; appointed, Special House Committee on the Homeless (1984); appointed, Select Committee to Investigate Compliance with the Steel Products Procurement Act (1986); died while in office, May 17, 1988 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Richland Cemetery, Richland Township, Cambria County, Pennsylvania.
