HONAMAN, June N., a Representative from Lancaster County; born in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pa., May 24, 1920; graduated, Manheim Township High School, 1937; B.F.A, Beaver College (now Arcadia University), 1941; attended, Lancaster Business School; teacher (1947-1952); employed, Armstrong Cork Company; co-chair, Women’s Republican Club of Lancaster County (1949); member, Pennsylvania Council of Republican Women; elected, delegate, Republican National Convention (1964, 1968, 1972); vice chair, Republican Party of Pennsylvania (1964-1975); appointed member, Governor’s Commission on the Status of Women (1964-1972); appointed member, Governor’s Task Force on Election Reform (1975); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1976 and served 6 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (1981-1988); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1988); died, December 3, 1994 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Woodward Cemetery, Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
