Dieruff High School, 1971; paralegal certificate, Northampton County Area Community College, 1978; manager, title insurance agency; elected, council, Allentown (1982-1986); member, Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women; member, Lehigh Valley Democratic Association; member, Lehigh Valley Young Democrats; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1987 term and reelected to serve 3 more consecutive terms; appointed, Deputy Whip; appointed, Legislative Budget and Finance Committee (1989-1994); appointed, Select Committee on Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Services in Pennsylvania (1990); not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1995 term; unsuccessful campaign. Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor (1994); president, Strategic Communications Consultants (1994-present); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1997).
