MOYER, Jay R., a Representative from Montgomery County; born in Harleysville, Montgomery County, Pa., April 20, 1947; graduated, Souderton Area High School, 1965; B.A., political science, Syracuse University, 1973; attended, Temple University; served, United States Air Force (1966-1970); customer service, Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission; member, Souderton Area School Board (1977-1981); member, Board of Supervisors, Lower Salford (1982-1989); elected, treasurer, Montgomery County (1989-1999); vice president, Moyer’s Electrical, Inc.; regional director, Pennsylvania Department of Revenue (1999-2001); deputy secretary, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection; deputy secretary’s regional representative, United States Department of Education; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2006; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (2008, 2010); small business ombudsman, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection; elected, alternate delegate, Republican National Convention (2016); died, February 28, 2018 in Sellersville, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
