Senator Tom McGarrigle was elected to represent the 26th District in November 2014. He is Chairman of the Senate Urban Affairs & Housing Committee. He serves on the following Senate committees: Banking and Insurance, Community, Economic and Recreational Development, Local Government and Rules and Executive Nominations. In addition, he serves on Local Government Commission and Legislative Budget & Finance Committee. McGarrigle has been a resident of Delaware County for more than 40 years and is a successful small business owner and job-creator. Located in Springfield Township, Tom’s automotive business supports jobs and sponsors a range of community activities and events. He is a member of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. Prior to running for the Senate, McGarrigle served on the Delaware County Council, where he played an integral role in projects that helped to create jobs for Delaware County residents. He also served as a Springfield Township Commissioner. Tom is a dedicated member of the Delaware County community and has donated his time to a number of community and youth organizations. He was actively involved in the Springfield Youth Club and is a member of the Springfield Lions Club and the Greater Springfield Business Association. Tom is also a founding member of the Run for Heroes, an annual 5K Run in Springfield that raises $25,000 each year for the Delaware County Hero Scholarship Fund. Those funds provide needed support and educational assistance for the children of fallen police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel. Tom resides in Springfield Township with wife of more than 30 years, Michele. They have three sons, Thomas Jr., Patrick, and Daniel.
