Snowden, born July 5, 1880, Hughesville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania; son of William T. and Sarah “Sadie” Sissler Snowden; Hughesville High School; Lock Haven Teachers College; manufacturing of woodworking equipment, 1900-1910; auto sales, service dealer, 1910-1921; gasoline, oil wholesale business, Williamsport, Pennsylvania; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1939-1954; unsuccessful reelection, 1954; chairman, Lycoming County Republican Party, 1953-1961; married, Catherine "Kate" Campbell; died, August 19, 1964, Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania; Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
