Myron Matson, born September 13, 1850, Rushford, Allegheny County, New York; son of Riley Mae and Susan Matson; age of four years his parents moved to Franklinville, Cattaraugus County, New York; educated, common schools, Cattaraugus County, New York; Tenbrook Academy, Franklinville, New York; moved, Tidioute, Warren County, Pennsylvania, 1870; married, Bertha A. Mathew Matson, 1882, children, Calvin Matson Bruce H. Matson; engaged, oil business, holding interests in various oil fields throughout Pennsylvania and West Virginia; president, Victor Oil Company, Matson Oil Company, interests Devonlan Oil Company; engaged mining, interests Inca Mining Company, Peru, South America, Bradford Alaska Mining Company, Alaska; director, Bradford Commercial National Bank; delegate, Republican, McKean County, Pennsylvania State Conventions; chairman, Republican County Committee of McKean County, 1898, 1902; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1900-1906; died, December 15, 1906, in office, at his home, (aged 56) Bradford, McKean County, Pennsylvania; interment, Oak Hill Cemetery, Bradford, McKean County, Pennsylvania.
