LOGAN, Henry, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born near Dillsburg, Monaghan Township, York County, Pa., on April 14, 1784; attended the common schools; engaged in agricultural pursuits; volunteered for the defense of Baltimore in 1814; captain in the Nineteenth Regiment, Second Brigade, Fifth Division, Pennsylvania Militia, and was commissioned lieutenant colonel August 1, 1814; member of the state house of representatives in 1818 and 1819; served in the state senate 1828-1831; elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-fourth Congress and reelected as a Democrat to the Twenty-fifth Congress (March 4, 1835-March 3, 1839); was not a candidate for renomination; resumed farming; member of the Board of Commissioners of York County in 1840; served as county auditor; died on the Logania plantation in Monaghan Township, near Dillsburg, Pa., December 26, 1866; interment in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Dillsburg, Pa.
