Born in Bristol, Bucks County, Nov. 8, 1804, the son of Samuel Kinsey, English immigrant and colonial settler; worked in a cotton mill; apprenticed as, and became a blacksmith through 1850; iron manufacturer; pursued real estate and auctioneering; justice of the peace, 1850-55; served and helped raise a company of First Responders at the outset of the Civil War; member of the state Senate, 1862-64; burgess of Bristol for seven years postmaster for four years; school director for 24 years; trustee at Bristol Methodist Episcopal Church; Mason; Odd-fellow; two daughters. Senator Kinsey died on August 9, 1895.  He married Mary Gastine.
