Attorney; Born on November 30, 1849, Miles Township, Centre County; educated in public schools; Rebersburg Normal School; school teacher; principal of Philipsburg public schools, 1872; principal of the Bellefonte public schools, 1875; principal of the preparatory department of the Pennsylvania State College (University); studied law and joined the Centre County bar in 1878.  Elected to the Democratic County Committee three times; Unsuccessful bid for Congress, 21st District, 1911.
He married Rosa Woods, who died in 1881.
